Now that the warm season is over it’s time to say goodbye to our favourite European beach clubs and coastal restaurant for a while. Instead, we created this edition of the AirGO food guide to introduce the best steak houses in Europe serving top-notch options for meat lovers.

Buca Lapi 

Italy, Florence, Via del Trebbio 1r

Another excellent Italian steak restaurant is Buca Lapi. The restaurant is hidden, but once you found it behind the giant old vaults you will be welcomed to the homey atmosphere of the oldest running restaurant in Florence. The kitchen is visible and guests are invited to see the preparation of their meals. The menu features traditional Tuscany dishes. First-time visitors should not miss out on the Bistecca Alla Fiorentina.

Bricco e Bacco

Italy, Sicily, Monreale PA, Via B. d’Acquisto, 13

Bricco e Bacco is heaven for steak fans. Located in a small hilly suburb, the restaurant has a typical rustic Italian atmosphere. Bricco e Bacco provides a real Sicilian experience using selected local ingredients and serving typical dishes but refined with influences from around the world. The hospitality of the owner and waiting staff really make the restaurant stand out.

Shanahan’s on the Green

Shanahan’s on the Green is not a typical steak house, situated in a Georgian townhouse is the finest steak restaurant in Dublin. Stunning chandeliers and fine tableware complete the elegant setting. The dishes on the menu certainly own up to the elevated style of the restaurant. Shanahan’s on the Green is famous for its selection of high-quality meat and excellent steak preparation. The staff will give you a recommendation for a steak like a sommelier would recommend a good wine. Leave some room for dessert, the menu offers some excellent cakes to complete a remarkable meal.

Zozimus

Ireland, Dublin, Anne St S, Dublin, Centenary House

After dinner at Shanahan’s on the Green, head down Grafton street for 5 minutes to end the evening with a cocktail at Zozimus. The atmosphere of the trendy bar is great, there is always good music playing and the vintage look reminds of the Great Gatsby era. Zozimus is best known for its variety of signature cocktails, but its selection of sparkling wines and whiskeys also will not disappoint you.

Goodman

UK, London, 3 Locations Mayfair/City/Canary Wharf

Goodman steakhouse is originally from New York before the brand expanded to its three locations in London. The London branches are designed in a similar classic chic way to the New York restaurant: dark wood, leather seating and dimmed light create a cosy atmosphere to stay a whole evening enjoying the 3-course menu. The Michelin restaurant has a great selection of beef and wine, the rib eye is a must-try.

Le Comptoir

France, Paris, 9 Carrfour de l’Odéon

Le Comptoir is the restaurant along the Art Deco Hotel le Relais St Germain. The Michelin Star restaurant is run by the famous chef Yves Camdeborde. The dishes are prepared with the highest quality of ingredients and the central part of Yves Camdeborde’s philosophy is the ensemble of textures and the variety of seasonings. The restaurant is small and therefore lively and frequently booked out.

Mr. T

France, Paris, 38 Rue de Saintonge

This is a hip mini restaurant with an open show kitchen in the Parisian quarter Upper Marais. Mr. T is a Franco-Japanese restaurant – European ingredients cooked in Asian style. Dining here is an all-around experience. The dishes are always surprising, full of appealing aromas and presented artistically. You can’t go wrong with ordering grilled fish or a steak as main.

The ambience of the restaurant is also exceptional: the background music and combination of dark colors and gold for the interior create a surprisingly young atmosphere.

The fine Michelin **Star restaurant is the flagship of the 5-star resort Vila Vita Parc located in the Algarve region serving a modern interpretation of classic Portuguese cuisine with ingredients that are local, fresh and directly from the sea. Seafood is the restaurant’s speciality, but the vegetarian options are exquisite as well. The restaurant manager and sommelier can recommend a wine from the over more than 24,000 bottles collection to be paired with your menu choice.

UK, London, Soho and City

Is a Michelin Star restaurant at two locations in the London city center serving fine Chinese cuisine. The restaurants have an elevated modern interior with dimmed lights and big aquariums with colorful fishes.

The menu offers a large variety of different dim sum, traditionally small Chinese dishes, with a contemporary twist. But also, other main dishes created with high-quality ingredients like caviar, lobster or truffles can be found. When dining in a group ordering, sharing and trying a few different dim sums can be recommended. Along with the food, go for one of their signature cocktails or a traditional tea and don’t forget to leave some room for dessert. Yauatcha’s in house patisserie will perfectly round up the meal!

La Petite Maison

France, Nice, 11 Rue Saint-François de Paule

An extraordinary dining experience for decades and the “cantina” of our AirGO founders in Nice. Located in a former 19th-century grocery store in the lively city center of Nice. The restaurant has a casual and vibrant atmosphere and is well known for celebrating whatever is worth to be celebrated. All dishes are typical for the region, original Niçoise food with local and high-quality ingredients. Excellent fresh fish (we love the sole and the “Loup comme on aime”), meat and vegetables with a fun twist. La Petite Maison… the original… don’t expect what you expect from a restaurant… but always simply quality food in a unique atmosphere.

Hotel Costes and Société Coste

France, Paris, 239 Rue St. Honoré / 4 Place Saint-Germain des Prés

Coste belonging to the Costes Family is a group of fine Parisian restaurants in very mythic settings. The restaurant in Hotel Costes is chic and exclusive with an awe-inspiring ambiance decoration and this is also underlined by its clientele. The menu, created by Jean-Louis Costes, offers traditional French gastronomy combined with a contemporary gourmet approach with an emphasis on organic and seasonal ingredients. The differently styled rooms are located around a patio which takes you to a romantic Italian pizzeria even though you are just some steps away from the famous Place Vendôme. Along with the restaurant the Hotel Costes also has a glamorous bar serving iconic drinks with live music.

On the Left Bank of the Seine river, you will find the sister restaurant Société in the heart of the 6th Arrondissement on Place St. Germain. In summer you may sit right in front of the Eglise St. Germain, sipping your cocktail, enjoying your healthy lunch or dinner and watching people strolling around St. Germain.

Yotam Ottolenghi is an Israeli-born British chef who is known for his restaurants, deli-cafes, and gourmet cookbooks. The cuisine is Middle-Eastern influenced and dishes are full of surprising flavours and vibrant colours. Ottolenghli has something delicious for everyone; the variety of small dishes is perfect for sharing.
